The Macallan, founded in 1824 in Speyside, is one of Scotch whisky's most revered names, prized for its rigorous wood program and natural color. The Double Cask 12 Years Old marries American and European oak, both sherry-seasoned in Jerez, so the casks themselves drive flavor and hue. The two together balance the sweetness of American oak with the classic spice of European oak, giving creamy caramel, orchard fruit, and warm baking spice.
