This is a pristine expression of Timorasso from Piedmont's prized Derthona zone, made by Elisa Semino of La Colombera, one of the families credited with reviving this once-forgotten native grape. Il Montino comes from a single hillside vineyard around 250 meters on clay-rich, stony soils, fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve its vibrant character. Straw yellow with an initially austere nose, it unfolds with white peach, pepper, and a saline lift, gaining flinty, mineral complexity with bottle age. One of the great Italian whites for the cellar.
