K.LUKE master blender Jonathan Maisano starts with a small batch of aged rye sourced from Kentucky and Indiana distilleries, then fills it into a freshly emptied Pineau des Charentes Rouge cask from France for roughly ten weeks of secondary aging. That fortified-wine cask, made from Cabernet and Merlot grapes with added Cognac eau-de-vie, lends red-fruited richness to a nine-year-average rye. Bottled at 114.6 proof, non-chill filtered, from a single barrel yielding just 210 bottles, it offers red apple, floral raspberry spice, and a round, balanced finish.
