From Raffaele Guastaferro's small Campanian estate, this Memini bottling is made entirely from Aglianico, one of southern Italy's most age-worthy grapes, sourced in the Irpinia hills around Taurasi. Old-vine fruit and extended aging in large used barrels yield a wine of finesse rather than brawn, drawing comparisons to Barolo for its blend of power and elegance. Dark cherry, blackberry, and plum meet leather, tobacco, and smoky earth over firm, refined tannins and lifting acidity, built to evolve gracefully for years in the cellar.
