Pol Roger is one of Champagne's last great family-owned houses, famously Winston Churchill's preferred fizz. The Brut Reserve is a classic blend of equal parts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier, aged at length in the house's exceptionally deep, cool Epernay cellars and never released until at least three years old. The extended maturation shows in its luminous white-gold color, fine persistent bubbles, and elegantly complex character of white flowers, fresh quince, and gentle toasted notes of acacia honey and pear. A refined, celebration-worthy Champagne that also makes a beautiful aperitif.
