From the village of Verduno in Barolo's northern reaches, Poderi Roset crafts this Nebbiolo from a small estate founded in 1993. The fruit sees a long maceration of roughly three weeks before resting around 24 months in large 2,500 liter casks built from a marriage of Slovenian and French oak, a gentle approach that preserves the grape's aromatic perfume and fine tannic spine. The 2016 vintage, widely hailed as one of Piedmont's greatest in a generation, delivers classic rose, tar, and red cherry with remarkable poise.
