Clos Labarde is a small Right Bank estate rooted in Saint-Emilion's storied limestone and clay terroir, just north of the town on the cote. This Merlot-led 2016, from one of Bordeaux's great recent vintages, shows the polish and depth that classified neighbors are known for at a fraction of the fame. Matured in oak for structure and lift, it offers a fine, chalky frame and a long mineral echo that makes it equally at home on the table or in the cellar.
